Cycle Disciples is an independent Christian Motorcycle Club.
The organization is not associated with any church, denomination, training programs or associations. All races of people and as well as all makes and models of motorcycles are welcome.We encourage people to come ride with us at any time and associate with us at shows, runs etc. We really are a friendly bunch, but being invited to "prospect" takes time, commitment and character.
While we are definitely "Christians", CDKC is a Motorcycle Club (MC) and we function like one. It is important that you understand that adding new members is not our highest priority. Rather, our goal to to be a tight brotherhood, committed to each other and dedicated to our Lord. We view Jesus Christ as our living Lord and King. Internally, we seek to live in close communion with Him, to be well versed in His commands, encourage our brothers to grow in Christ-likeness and follow Him in our personal lives.
Externally, we focus on sharing Christ with Bikers who don't know Him and serving those in need. As the only Christian M/C in Kansas City, we know that we constantly being watched by those around us. We have worked for years to earn the right to wear our PATCH in Kansas City. One "bad apple" in our midst can ruin that reputation and compromise our witness. Wearing a patch is a serious responsibility! Depending on who you are dealing with at the time, carelessness can have "very unpleasant consequences".
CDKC uses a "prospect" and "full member" system similar to other clubs. The "Prospecting" period is a time for us to evaluate and test you and for you to find out if this is where God wants you. It usually last for about 6 - 12 months depending on the individual. This is a weeding-out process not a popularity contest.. We are serious about our work, our witness as a club and our commitment to each other. We must take great care in selecting new members. NEXT PAGE=> |
